I Feel Sorry For Carson Palmer, But It Could Have Been Worse

Carson Palmer's Worst Nightmare Came True
Tick, Tock, the clock is running out for Carson Palmer and yesterday facing the biggest game of his professional career he laid an egg. Unlike the "man-child" that bested him Palmer is a class act and I felt sorry for him as the interceptions mounted and his chance for a Super Bowl may have gone by the boards forever.

Palmer threw 4 interceptions and lost two fumbles in the debacle, but if misery loves company then he has plenty of company with 15 other quarterbacks having worse days, including 6 Hall of Famers.

Aeneas Williams Retuned Two Brett Favre Interceptions For TDs
Brett Favre threw 6 interceptions against the Greatest Show on Turf in 2001, including two returned for TDs, as did Hall of Famers Bobby Layne of the Lions in 1954 and Norm Van Brocklin of the Rams in 1955.

The three other Hall of Famers were picked off 5 times. George Blanda did it twice as a Houston Oiler in 1961 and 1962 as did the Chargers Dan Fouts in 1979 and 1982. Giant great Y.A. Tittle also threw 5 interceptions against the great 1963 Bears team that dethroned the two-time champion Packers.

Maybe this won't make Palmer feel any better, but Favre also holds the record for most interceptions in the playoffs with 30 beating out Jim Kelly of the Bills (28) and Terry Bradshaw of the Steelers (26). All three are Hall of Famers.

Frank Filchock As A Washington Redskin
The worse playoff quarterback of all-time as far as interceptions are concerned is Frank Filchock of the New York Giants, who threw 6 interceptions against the Bears in 1946 after throwing 5 interceptions against the Bears in 1940 as a Washington Redskin.

There was a side story to the 1946 game. It was alleged that Filchock and another Giants player were paid off to throw the game. Filchock was cleared of those charges. Another aside is if Palmer thought he was roughed up Filchock suffered a broken nose adding injury to insult.

As far as the AFC is concerned I don't feel sorry for Tom Brady. He was hit 20 times, supposedly the most in any game this season, but I think you need to ask Aaron Rodgers about that. The Broncos did the same to him in game 7 and the Cardinals roughed him up pretty good in the Disaster in the Desert.

As you all know I am not a fan of Peyton Manning, but I am also NOT A FAN of Tom Brady, especially after Deflategate. Brady is such a self-centered ASSHOLE of a person, who thinks he is above the law. He has a wife who also  thinks they are above the law and between the two of them they think they are so far above the average person when they look down they see ants.

The Brady Palace
As a matter of fact on the MSN homepage this past week they were showing the homes of 15 NFL players and the Brady mansion was the most expensive at $40 million. It was described as an extravagant palace that includes a spa, five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a motor court, a pool with a Baja shelf, a library with a balcony, a wine cellar and a yoga studio sitting on an enormous 5.2 acres of land in Massachusetts.

Tony Romo's Mansion
The next expensive mansion on the list was the $9 million mansion of Tony Romo followed by the $6.7 villa of Russell Wilson and the $5 million shacks of Peyton Manning and Brandon Marshall.

Aaron Rodgers' House
To be fair and I'm always fair, Aaron Rodgers appears on the list with his home in California, I guess, since I don't think this home is in Green Bay. The article didn't give a price, but said this. Apart from numerous bedrooms and bathrooms, Aaron Rodgers’s home comes with a nice swimming pool and spa, a huge dining room and even a man-made garden. This home will cost you a pretty penny.

One last thought on the rich and beautiful Brady is having him lose by failing on the final pass. It was great seeing him standing afterwards in defeat with his deflated balls. I'm guessing he went home and ki....................forget that he might sue me.

LOSER
Back to the NFC. One self-centered ASSHOLE did make it to the Super Bowl and I was not happy. I would also be more not happy if Cam Newton wins the Super Bowl. I think the Panthers are favored at this time.

One more thing during the week before the conference title games some announcer said the Panthers had never lost a conference title game before. He was referring to the Panthers making the Super Bowl in 2003, but I knew the Packers had beaten the allegedly hung-over Kerry Collins in the conference title game leading up to the 1996 Super Bowl and Jake Delhomme lost to the Seahawks in 2005. I guess research is a dirty word these days to the talking heads on TV.
