After having my hopes and dreams dashed with the news of The
Ted and The Dom (we live in a Donald Trump world these days) returning I
couldn't believe it when it was announced that former Packers outside
linebackers coach Kevin Greene has been hired as outside linebackers coach by
the Jets.
Greene spent 5 years in the same position with the Packers
under Defensive Coordinator for Life Dom Capers from 2009 to 2013 and since
2011 I've been calling for Greene to be named Defensive Coordinator.
He brought a nasty and attacking attitude to the defense
which sorely needs some attitude besides bending over and spreading its cheeks
each and every week under The Dom.
Greene suddenly retired two days after the 2013 season ended
with an embarrassing loss to the Colin Kaepernick "in order to spend more
time with (his) wife, Tara, and (his) children, Gavin and Gabrielle". He
hopes to return to coaching after his children are in college,". I guess they made it and since there was no room at the inn
on the Green Bay Packers coaching staff that was fully endorsed as doing a
great job this past season Greene is now a Jet.
You would think Capers would jump at the chance to bring
someone back who actually wanted to come back according to reports, but Capers
said this, “There’s nothing available (with the
Packers). That’s always (a big factor) in this business in terms of
availability. But he’s a passionate guy. He did a good job for us in the five
years he was here.”
During
the five years he was here Clay Matthews became a star debuting with 10 sacks
as a rookie and recording 50 sacks in five years. Since Greene left Matthews
has had 22.5 sacks in 3 seasons. Signing him would have at least brought back
the Claymaker and not that fat man sitting on couch stuffing his face in Aaron
Rodgers' insurance commercial.

Bad News Comes in 4s If You Are A Packer Backer
Director-Football Operations Eliot Wolf has interviewed with the Colts to be GM and Indianapolis won't make
an announcement until next week.
I
wonder if Greene's signing had anything to do with Wolf's relationship with the
Jets ownership. Once again I will say without any proof that it does. If you
don't like it take it up with The Donald. And word to the wise I wouldn't take
it up with him. He doesn't take criticism well or at all.

Personnel News
The
Ted is hitting his stride and signed a long snapper today - Taybor Pepper from Michigan State . I guess that means unrestricted
free agent Brett Goode and his low snaps are toast. Third verse same as the
first without any proof or verification I will say that is true. Refer to above
if you don't like it.
