The draft is approaching fast and there are still a few of
the top 100 free agents out there hoping to latch on to a new team. With The
Ted ignoring the desperate pleas of Aaron Rodgers to make this an
"all-in" offseason by bringing in no impact players and evidently
drawing the "incensement" of the Packers coaching staff by letting
Pro Bowl right guard T.J. Lang go to the Lions it certainly has been an
eventful pre-draft period for not the right reasons.

Catching Up Before the Draft
It's been a very busy (well sort of) first 100 days for The
Ted and his front office administration, but not the kind of busy the local kiss-ass
media and the national types were led to believe when The Ted gave the
impression he would heed the desperate request of Aaron Hollywood Rodgers when
the usually tight-lipped Quarterback said, "I don't think we need to rebuild.
We need to reload. We've just got to make sure we're going all-in every year to
win. And I think we can take a big step this offseason."
Before I get to The Ted's Big Week I hope everyone took
notice of Hollywood 's
third sentence, "We've just got to make sure we're going all-in
every year to win",
and take it for what it was a big swipe at The Ted and his cheapskate ways. It
seems I'm not the only one who thinks The Ted is wasting the prime years of Hollywood and it seems it's Hollywood himself who thinks that is the
case.

A FIND FROM AMONG THE BUSTS
Free Agency Wave three or two and a half or whatever they call the week after the second wave is still in half full swing until the draft (April 30) and General Manager Ted Thompson made his first big signing and I say that totally tongue in cheek.
All of a sudden the announcement went out that Thompson had signed a free agent and a defensive back a that after losing Tramon Williams and Davon House and I went totally giddy waiting to find out what veteran free agent he was able to pick off for a bargain basement price. THEN I read it was Kyle Sebetic and my giddiness turned to................ disappointment.
Kyle (Sebby) Sebetic. That name strikes terror in the hearts of all who hear it. He was a stud cornerback at the University of Dayton and here's his official video and bio:

NO SURPRISES IN FREE AGENCY
Free agency is in its second wave and the Packers have lost two
players in each wave and retained six of their own.
To be honest I was beginning to get nervous about losing wide
receiver Randall Cobb, but General Manager Ted Thompson pulled his head out of
his very tight ass and re-signed him two days before free agency opened to a 4
yr. $40,000,0000 contract, which is probably a bargain. GOOD MOVE.

Davon House |
Then word came down that reserve cornerback Davon House had been
signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars to a four-year $25,000,000 contract. I went
back and forth on keeping House and eventually decided it would be right to let
him go for two reasons.
First, he was injury prone. Leaving out his rookie season he's
played 38 games out of a possible 48 since he was drafted in 2011 in the fourth
round. He's had injuries every year. His rookie year he began the season with
an ankle injury. 2012 it was a separated shoulder during training camp when he
was supposed to challenge for a starting job.
In fact, it seemed that every time he would start or get a
chance to start he would come up with an injury. In 2013 it was a knee injury
that bothered him and last year it was a knee, then a dislocated finger and
finally a shoulder. It seems it’s always something.

Free Agency and Ted Thompson
It seems General Manager Ted Thompson feels good about letting Randall Cobb hit free agency. I've got a problem with that for two reasons. It will drive up the price if the Packers do re-sign him, but more importantly Cobb will end up signing elsewhere.

Randal Cobb |
Thompson pre-empted Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson when it was their time to test the free agent waters and ended up with relative sweetheart deals. He could have done the same with Cobb as most reports kept saying Cobb was waiting for the front office to make a move and most Packers want to remain Packers.
From the lack of contract I have to conclude the development of Davante Adams has caused Cobb to be expendable. Like I said I have a problem with that. Except for the broken shin Cobb has been a durable player and last year took the step to become a superstar. In the Packer offense there is a need for three No. 1 receivers and right now before Cobb walks (and I think the odds are better than 75 percent he will and much to my chagrin will probably end up in Seattle to replace Percy Harvin) leaving just two.
