CHEATERS NEVER WIN UNTIL THEY DO

I'm going to step out of my Packers in-dept analysis mode for a day and address "Deflategate". Normally, I couldn't care a hoot about what's going on outside of Lambeau Field, but driving through town I caught the Sean Hannity Show on the radio and, while I never listen to that cretin because he gripes my butt.............All Things Considered wasn't on yet and he wasn't taking shots at Democrats like he does every single minute or every single day and he was talking about "Deflategate".

Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen
Hannity's point was Tom Brady would never be fined or suspended because the report didn't exactly say he did anything and to a lesser point Brady is good for the game, so the NFL would never sanction him because in essence he is too big to fail, which, ironically, Hannity is against if somehow it hurts the Democrats and he always seems to find a way to turn anything that happens into something to hurt the Democrats. But not today.

John Jastremski
But enough of him, I've already............like I said enough of him. I'm afraid he is going to be right. As it sits right now the only people who are going to be sanctioned are going to be, part-time locker room attendant Jim McNally and assistant equipment manager John Jastremski, who actually did the dirty deed.

Jim McNally
Mr. BMOC Brady with the model wife and all that money and fame...........errrrrr......will throw them under the bus as quick as a 15-year old seeing his first naked woman once he figures out who they are since they weren't important enough to know their names or even recognize their existence except for the guys who do the balls on game day. And now that they are guilty he won't even remember that. When asked I'm sure he will say he never met either of them and, of course, had never talked to them.

Brady's statement to the press was, "I didn't alter the ball in any way." And you know something he was right. He had other people alter them for him. However, what might get him in trouble (but I doubt it) is his next statement, "I have no knowledge of wrongdoing."

We all know and I'm sure we do is that Mr. Brady let these two bootlickers know without saying it directly (does plausible deniability ring a bell) how he likes his balls. It's a lot like what Sergeant Schultz used to say, "I know nothing."

The rest is best left unsaid because you lowly employees should be able to diagnose what the Super Stars need and bust your butt to make them happy. And when the shit hits the fan fall on your sword and swear on your first born it was all your idea. BTW don't let the door hit you on the way out.

These poor guys are so done with the Patriots for two reasons. First, the NFL will have them fired. Second, the Patriots will not have them back for secretly making fun of Brady. They are so fired. The little man always gets in the end.

Bill Belichick
However, the head cheaters will remain. The fish stinks from the head down and the Patriots are a team of cheaters. They push the envelop and even when they got caught (Spygate in 2007) only the little guy got fired and Head Coach Bill Belichick lived to cheat another day even though a little lighter in the wallet, but I think they probably cheated there too, reimbursing him somehow over time.

However, this time the Wells Report specifically stated that the Patriots ownership, Belichick and his assistants, or equipment manager Dave Schoenfeld were not involved in any way they could find. So they shut that door.

Back to that stinky fish. Spygate concerned taping the New York Jets during a regular season game. The NFL found the Patriots and Belichick guilty of a calculated and deliberate attempt to avoid long-standing rules designed to encourage fair play and promote honest competition on the playing field. Doesn't that sound familiar?

Second verse........or maybe third verse same as the first. Once that verdict came down [Belichick was fined $500,000, the Patriots were fined $250,000 and lost a No. 1 draft pick] it was found that filming the other team to figure out their defensive signals was standard operating procedure (SOP) for Belichick.

Matt Walsh
Former Senator Arlen Specter reported that after a meeting with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and a former Patriot video man Matt Walsh in 2008 he was told Belichick had been taping the opposition from day one after he became the head coach of the Patriots. He was going to try to start a Senate investigation, but the powers that be made it clear this was not an issue anyone wanted to pursue.

It seems the only way Belichick went from an ordinary head coach with the Browns from 1991 to 1995 (36-44) to the highly successful head coach of the Patriots from 2000 to 2007 (91-37) with four Super Bowl appearances and three trophies was to cheat.

After Spygate from 2008 to last year (74-28) he had only one Super Bowl appearance and no trophies until this year when one was handled to him on a silver platter.

The Patriots organization reeks of cheating. It is SOP and it doesn't take a genius or a conspiracy freak to link the feeling of privilege Mr. Brady has to find that even if you are the better team you need that extra (illegal) edge to make sure you win. The ironic part is the Patriots didn't win their Super Bowl in 10 years, but the Seahawks lost it.

The Patriots remind me of former President Richard Nixon. Even though there was no chance Nixon was going to lose to George McGovern in 1972 they cheated anyway.

If only the nation would rise up and force Belichick to resign for creating the cheating atmosphere and the NFL to suspend Mr. Brady for a season for being the cheater. But after hearing Hannity (who is a Jets fan) defend Mr. Brady and the Patriots it's clear the cheaters will get away with it again. Goodell is not a strong commissioner and he won't rock this boat.

So the old axiom of "Cheaters Never Win" is no longer true in the 2015 world we live in. They win and they have sycophants who will defend them no matter what they do. It's sad people can't see cheaters or liars for what they are and make judgments for the greater good, instead of who's ox is being gored. I love the Packers. They are my favorite team, but I'm not a sycophant and if I see something wrong I will point it out. I make up my own mind and will buck the "In Ted We Trust" crowd, who I have butt heads with in the past and have gotten on the wrong side of them.

Like I said I love the Packers, but they don't do everything right. McCarthy calls a terrible game in the second half. Dom Capers needs to be fired. Ted Thompson will only maintain a good team, but won't get that one or two veteran players who will ensure another Super Bowl trophy. I will always be the squeaky wheel yelling into the night wind because I want to be a dynasty like we were in the 1960s.

I hate cheaters and the smug attitude of the privileged who look down on the little guy and throw them under the bus (sorry Jerome Bettis) when its more convenient than telling the truth. I hope cooler heads will prevail, but I'm also a pessimist and, as much as this hurts me to my core, I agree with Hannity that Brady will get away with it and be smugger afterwards and will find another way to cheat next season. So, in this case the cheaters did win and we're poorer for it.
